What is the point of our life? Why are we here?We are told that the point of life is to study, get a good job, get a house, marry someone nice, have kids and then eventually die. Yes, it is good to do the things mentioned above, however, that is not why we have been given this human life. In Sikhi, there is only one point of life which is to merge with Vaheguru (God). Guru Arjan Dev Ji, the 5th Guru, tells us in the evening daily prayer, Rehraas Sahib, "This human body has been given to you. This is your turn to meet Vaheguru. Nothing else will be of any use. Join the Sadh Sangat (Holy Company) and meditate on the Naam. Make all effort to cross over this worldy ocean. This life is being wasted in the love of maya" ~SGGS Ji (Ang 12)

If you carry out all the sins, do you get punished for each sin in all the hells?"Yes. You will be punished according to the sin you commit. If you commit all the sins, then you will be punished for each sin separately. Remember, in Sikhi, hell is temporary. When you have been punished for all your sins, you will leave hell and then be reincarnated.

Do we need Guru Granth Sahib Ji? Can we merge with Vaheguru without Guru Ji?Yes, we need the Guru. We cannot merge with Vaheguru without Guru Ji. Guru Ji is like a GPS and Vaheguru is the destination... Guru Ji shows us the route to Vaheguru. Every other person and religious scripture will contain errors and will not have the complete truth. Guru Granth Sahib ji contains the complete truth. We must follow the complete truth to reach Vaheguru.

What is the difference between Janam and Pargat?Janam = Born Pargat = Revealed The Gurus existed before they came to this world. That is why we say that the Gurus were revealed to the world.

Was Guru Nanak Dev Ji Amritdhari?Yes. Someone that is Amritdhari is pure from the inside and the outside. Guru Ji is the purest of the pure so is considered Amritdhari. "The Amrit comes from the Guru" ~ SGGS Ji (Ang 918) The Guru already has Amrit inside them and is here to give the Amrit to everyone else. Guru Gobind Singh Ji themselves received Amrit from the Panj Pyaare to show the world that the Panj Pyaare have the power to transfer the Amrit from Guru Granth Sahib Ji into the Sikhs.

If a shop keeper accidently gives you extra change and you keep it, is it classed as stealing?"Yes. If this happens, then you should give the money back to the shop keeper. You should never take money that is not yours. Guru Nanak Dev Ji taught us to earn our money honestly by working hard (Kirat Karni).

What is the difference between us people and Vaheguru? What is so special in him?Firstly, we should know what WE actually are. We are not this body, we are the soul. Our soul is a part of Vaheguru. The only difference between us and Vaheguru is that our soul is bound by the Panj Chor, whereas, Vaheguru is free from the Panj Chor (5 Thieves). When we conquer the Panj Chor, we become a Brahm Giani (Enlightened being). "O Nanak, the Brahm Giani is themselves Vaheguru" ~ SGGS Ji (Ang 273). Guru Ji tells us in Sukhmani Sahib that a Brahm Giani is Vaheguru. There is no difference between the two; they are one and the same. The only way to conquer the Panj Chor is by chanting the Naam, Vaheguru.

Why are we lucky to be a Sikh? The reason we are Sikhs today is because in our past lives we have done many good deeds. The reason a human Sikh life is so precious is because the only way to get to Vaheguru is by chanting the Naam 'Vaheguru'. "Without Vaheguru's Naam, no one is liberated" ~ SGGS Ji (Ang 481). Only our Guru, Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji can give us Naam. For this reason only a Sikh that follows the Guru is able to reach Vaheguru.
