One of Guru Angad Dev Ji’s followers gifted Guru Ji a dress made from very expensive material.
At that time, Guru Angad Dev Ji’s foot was bleeding and so it stained the dress. Guru Angad Dev Ji asked Bhai Amar Das Ji to tell the washerman to clean it.
The washerman refused to wash the dress as it would ruin the dress. Bhai Amar Das Ji knew Guru Angad Dev Ji really liked the dress so Bhai Amar Das Ji washed the dress himself and took it back to Guru Ji.
Guru Angad Dev Ji had seen the whole thing and asked Bhai Amar Das Ji why he did this. Bhai Amar Das Ji said "by washing this dress for you, my sins have also been washed away". Guru Angad Dev Ji blessed Bhai Amar Das Ji.
Moral of Story:
Always follow what Guru Ji has told you.
Doing seva with love washes away your sins.

One day, King Akhbar came to visit Guru Amar Das Ji in Goindwal. The Sikhs asked Guru Ji if they should make special arrangements but Guru Ji refused as he said “In my eyes everyone is equal and so should be treated equally".
When King Akhbar arrived, he requested to meet Guru Amar Das Ji at once. Guru Ji told his Sikhs to tell King Akhbar to eat with the Sangat first. .
King Akhbar sat on the floor and ate with the rest of the Sangat who were of different castes. He was served simple food just like the rest of the Sangat.
King Akhbar was grateful to Guru Amar Das Ji for encouraging social equality and so he offered to loan land to Guru Ji for langar.
Guru Ji said to King Akhbar “I am grateful to you for your offer of land but I cannot accept as the Guru’s Langar is the People's Langar and must be run on people’s free gifts".
Moral of Story:
Everyone is equal in Guru Ji's eyes.
Guru Ji does not want your money, he wants your love.
When we go to the Gurdwara, we should eat langar on the floor. It doesn't matter if other people sit on the table. Guru Ji will judge you for your own actions, not other people's actions.
